70's Inspired Styled Shoot

Mid Century Modern and the 70s certainly are taking the world by storm all over again, and I am here for it! Warm tones, dresses with sleeves and of course artsy decor! I had such a blast dreaming of this idea and was finally able to bring it to life!

How did this all come to be you ask? Great question! Well, while thrifting at our local Amvets, my talented friend Chelsea, from Chelsea Victoria Photography, and I came upon this beautiful dress that just HAD to come home with us. It was then we decided we were going to make a pretty funky styled shoot out this. Thus the idea was born! Fast forward to getting the dress cleaned and getting Frank Lloyd Wright Martin House on board, we started getting all the fine details into play for our big adventure! From Hair & Makeup, with Amanda Lee Shamrock, Florals from Marigold & Vase, and a drop dead gorgeous ring from Heidi Gibson, we were well on our way to magic.

A few days before the shoot, I saw on Facebook that a friend of mine just happened to own a Herbie Car. Yes, you heard me! The LOVE BUG himself! I just had to ask her if we could use it, and sure enough he was ours for the day! He even had the original petal from the movie! SO COOL. It couldn't have been a better day, and everything just fell into place. How stinking cute are these? Future brides, you know what to do, get at me ;D I wanna live all the 70s, boho, funky vibes!

Rain.

That one word that no-one wants to hear in the forecast for their wedding day. And in Buffalo, you never know if it is actually going to happen because every forecast is different and every area has a different one. Being a Buffalo wedding photography things I have in my car at all time - umbrellas, a clear umbrella for the bride and groom, smoke bombs or sparklers, a backup system, extra batteries and a light stand. Hey, you just never know, but you have to be prepared for everything!  

Jen and Bryan had the most amazing day and didn't let a little rain stop them from having the best day every. The ceremony took place inside of Kotecki's foyer and boy, did everyone have a great view with the bridal party on the staircase. Kotecki's has so many options for photos for both raining and sunny situations so I knew I would get some amazing photos of this crew. And, man, did I. Check out the most amazing cinco de mayo rainy wedding ever. Thank you Jen and Bryan for being such good sports, be prepared and choosing Seventh Arrow as your wedding photographer.

Many of you remember Erin and Bri from that Ollcott engagement session that was posted a while back. Well, the time has come to share with you their wedding. When they had originally contacted me, they were to be married in a small venue outside of Franklinville. They booked Seventh Arrow as their wedding photographer with that venue in mind, a few months go by and I was delighted to find out their wedding venue was changed to Holiday Valley because a wedding date had opened. They jumped at the chance, and boy are we happy they did. The vest options for photos at Holiday Valley for a wedding photographer are amazing and unique, unlike other venues. A photographers dream. We are so happy that Seventh Arrow was invited to join the preferred vendor list there. 

Back to Erin and Bri, these girls were the best, and they were truly truly in love. We loved capturing them as they love made us "sing" and dance. Lets just say, our jobs were not that hard that day. They wanted to do something unique for their first look. We knew just the answer. Polaroids. Now, they have that moment captured in a keepsake. This couple was one of the most down to earth couples that we have ever met. This was the one of the first weddings that we booked as buffalo wedding photographers under our new name, Seventh Arrow Studio. Seventh Arrow Studio is so happy to have shared the day with you, your family and your friends! Chris Borgatti and his band killed the music with his rock acoustic "jam session" style and the guest danced the night away next to an amazing sunset on their families property in Youngstown, New York

We have never met another couple that has had such a horrid year yet has such a powerful and loving family to help them through it. Both of their fathers had past last June, so instead of this due being a grave and sad reminder, they both decided that they would move their wedding to June to have something to celebrate and make June a month of memories and love. We were so happy that I was there to celebrate their love with them. They could not have been a more loving and great couple. Everyone that as in attendance had love pouring out of them and the Val and Mark had the most perfect day!
